Venus flytraps like lots of sun, so long as they also get lots of humidity and pure water. Nepenthes varies, but generally likes partial shade. It can get sunburned, developing red blotches on the leaves. N. ventricosa is a sunny windowsill plant. |

Some of my cactus garden has been shown around the world in various publications and books. All were grown outside. My carnivorous plants were kept indoors in a large aquarium/terrarium with direct sun south and west exposure (Northern Hemisphere) in the San Francisco Bay Area. Remember, most are bog plants which means they are often under-story with bright broken or indirect sunlight. Here is a long lasting shop which has good online information for care questions. Also if you go through the photos you will see the growing condition they have for their array of carnivorous plants and only carnivorous plants. https://www.californiacarnivores.com/I enjoy seeing such plants in the wild and know of places in California to see native carnivorous plants, especially Darlingtonia Californica and the sundew. This link shows a natural field of the D. Californica: https://www.cnps.org/citizen-scienc...nd-fens-6749The stamp the same plant by the name of Cobra Lilly: Scott 3528-3531 |

This is a stamp and postal history care and feeding blog. For the living plants themselves try: https://www.google.com/search?q=car...yAFoQ4dUDCA0You can also set your SCF profile to accept e-mails. You however are not allowed to send e-mails until after 50 posts. As to your interests in Cacti and Succulents, try the search function to find many listed. But better yet start a topical theme yourself for Cacti and/or Succulents. Currently there does not appear to be one. |

For questions about growing carnivores, see https://www.terraforums.com/forums/As for the question: there should not be any drainage holes but maybe drill one an inch down from the top of the pot to drain excess water. I do combine the hobbies: I use the same tongs for the stamps as for administering insects to my traps, but clean them in between usages. Otherwise, I would give new meaning to the term, "flyspecking". However, I cannot keep them in the same room. Carnivores mostly like a hot, humid well-lit space. Stamps do not. Stamps like a dry, dark space, which would kill most plants including carnivores. |
