Might have paid too much for this one. At best I broke even. I could have searched longer for this one. By getting this I lost out on another one I was watching. It is obvious to me now it is the other one I should have bought. That one was the deal.

Thanks stampcrow. It is nice to have a complete set, but I do think I'll look for another 294 with better centering. The others, while not perfect, are fine with me.

Not my most recent, but from last summer and keeping with fimpster's set theme.

I picked these up along with nearly every US air mail stamp (except for the zeppelins) in an auction lot. They were in a stock notebook being ignored due to the vast amount of other stamps at this auctions.
The C1-3 are previously hinged, lightly. The others are never hinged.

I don't mean to boast.... well okay, maybe a little.

I just picked up this MNH beauty a couple of days ago. Now I've only got 2 more issues (guess which ones? not including c3a, lol) to have a complete MNH Classic US Airmail collection.

fimpster, YESSSSS! I'm as green as that stamp with envy. I don't think I'll ever be able to stampcrow one of those.

Guatemala C61a, the missing Quezal airmail stamp. My recent additiom to my collection. This is the second one I bought. There are fewer than 10 known, all used, and it is quite rare.

A couple of new purchases for me ...

First, a used block of 4 KABE Stamp day with Mi513 on cover. Unfortunately, this one is dated more than a year after the event, but is still hard to find used.

Next, is a Volkwagon savings stamp that I just purchased today. I thought that PostmasterGS wrote up a nice post about these a couple years ago, but I can't seem to find it. I'm sure someone will be happy to fill in the details, but this stamp was purchased and added to a card for the purpose of saving for a new VW KDF (Beetle). I am delighted to finally add one to my collection!

Brian

Finally found a #10 at a price I liked - that actually is a #10!
Marked lightly in pencil on the back as position 3L1e

Blue postmark, Oct 29 date, looks like a town: -ILL VA (?)
Still have a lot to learn, but found the Carrol Chase reference book in the local library system and am reading through it. Beautiful work!
