A couple of Mexican lovelies. Scott 172 and Scott 66. Will be joining the rest in my new MX Scott album soon.

I picked up the Great Britain Scott 57a, Plate 2 recently. A nice stamp (though some pulled perfs).

Lovely stamp Steve,
an agonisingly difficult Pmk, I think I can see a "92" in there somewhere
Perhaps 2 strikes, possibly parcel postage.
I wouldn't worry about the pulled perforations.

Thanks Rod. I tried retro-reveal, but nothing came up as a positive postmark. I was looking for a Plate 2 for some time, and this one popped up with fairly good centering. Very much under-priced for a Scott 2017 value of $1200 (in VF condition, of course, which this is not).
Now I just need to find Plate 4 somewhere.

I found that if I rotate it, and squint really hard, it almost looks like a crown.

It also seems that a "92" is lurking in there.

Then again, it's late out here, and the Wine is slowly taking effect ...

Cannot comment on the alcohol, never touch it.
Let's take the detective approach.
1. It's a 5 shilling heavy lifter, almost always a Parcel Post if not a script cancel.
2. There is a rough circular impression, and its a smudgy impression.
3. Parcel hammers were rubber, and oft deteriorated.
4. Parcel hammers had a ring and sometimes a name and / or number.

That would be my best guess, albeit there are what look likes two strikes of differing cancellers.

CALLINGTON rubber hammer, BOM (you would swear the "B" is an "8"

Congratulations on a very good buy with lots of interesting material.

An FAM F5-2 first flight is fun too.
There is an exhibit on that route at http://www.canalzonestudygroup.com/...ExhibitA.pdf where the northbound waybill and other examples are shown.
