For the past four months, I've been offering free stamps on the give-away thread. This is something I have really enjoyed doing and I hope those who have taken advantage of the offers have liked what they've received. Will probably keep doing it for a while longer, but in the interests of promoting the hobby, would like suggestions about how to direct some offers specifically to beginning collectors. I still have a very large inventory of duplicates (nothing particularly valuable but all in good condition). Your thoughts?

Hi, and great idea. I have been one of the people grabbing up your offers before the others (mainly because I'm sitting at my computer and love free stuff). However, I have to agree that beginning collectors would benefit greatly from your kind offers.

I guess the easiest way is to state that no one who has received your previous offers is eligible to apply again. Or, you could state that the only eligible people are ones with less than 200 posts (or so).

Here's another thought ... repeat customers are eligible. However, upon receipt of their (100) stamps, they must then prepare another batch of (100) similar quality stamps and send onto the next eligible person on your list. You can call this the "steamroller" offer where repeat customers must roll on new stamps to the next people, while new customers can keep their items without any further action.

Eventually, beginning collectors will benefit, while experienced collectors will also.

Just my thoughts, and willing to help out in any way that I can.

As a recently returned aircraft stamp thematic collector and relatively new Stamp Community forum user, I am interested in bolstering my collection of aircraft stamps. But then NZ is a long way to post a bundle of stamps! Your generosity is to be commended NBStamper. Allen

This is called in French "réanimation" or resuscitation of an old thread that interests me in particular since, upon joining this fine group of "stampers", I have given a lot of stamps, all over the world, to people I felt were - beginners - and over time, I changed my method, giving to only people-members with 50 posts or more. I give the stamps, pay for shipping, and 50% of the time, will receive an acknowledgement from the recipient member.
The last member request was for Luxembourg dups and this a.m. some 50-60 older stamps left for the Southern US (Florida). I am eager to see if I will ever get a "thanks".
In summary, you try to pick the people who will benefit the most but......no control.......Internet and this Community is a large pot pourri of people........just a thought

Good to see this thread 'resuscitated'. My collection has been greatly enlarged since I wrote back in 2013 and I have 5 albums of 'aircraft stamps' only now and this continues to grow. I do have some Canadian gaps however and the thought occurred to me that perhaps we could do a swap if there was something from New Zealand that you would like. Perhaps you have a thematic interest like myself. I do have a reasonable supply of NZ used stamps. Just a thought, reply if interested.

teals1....answer in your e-mail box - I am not a thematic stamp collector per se - I love them all ! My preference is pre WWII stamps though some countries do not matter. I do have lots of CANADA dups.
