As I'm sorting through stuff, I've come across quite a lot of these stamps, and I'm trying to decide best way of 'collecting' them; whether by line, by name alphabetically, by region etc etc.

I was wondering how does everyone else organise these? (with the exception of chasa who has shown his album page).

I collect by Steiner Page as hardcopy,
but due to the knowledge of the vast array of difference, I also keep a simple MSWorks database of
1. Alphabetical Name of station (including spelling varieties)
2. What line (if any)
3. Type of design (champfered box etc & etc)

Thanks Rod, that's an alternative I hadn't thought of.

I thought of trying to collect by line, but after reading Nick's reply to you, it seems like I would end up with a load of pages with next to nothing on them.

Maiden,
been caught up with builders on my entrance foyer,
your 500 free stamps, are still on my desk, and I am feeling guilty.
Shall send Monday.

I've come in a large load of railway parcel post receipts/way bills and those I can muddle through and figure them out for the most part, but within that groups there's a few oddities I can't figure out what they are for. Most were mailed like postcards, but they have the railway parcel post stamps and postmarks.

Battlestamps.
Pure Guesswork.
The encircled "B" suggests articles posted under "Official" status.
Official "Bill of Lading" cards?

These look like Official Medical Cards for the transport of associated Medical equipment and supplies. Forms to Register the content, and proof of transport.
Nice Ephemera.
Happy to stand corrected.

Some guesswork I am not familiar with Belgian proceedings, but probably as follows.

The first 2 documents and very last are an application for a new booklet.

The booklets were issued with 12 or 20 removable pages, which could be handed in during periods of sickness or injury to recieve benefits.

The page shown was in the last in the booklet and had to be posted to the head of the local medical department to get a new booklet.

The one on blue paper is for retired workers.

I presume something to do with recieving benefits for an injury during working life.

As stated my best guess.

Thanks Rod & Johan! I thought they were medical related, but really wasn't sure about the details. Was this something that was part of the state health care system (did it exist then?) and if so did all workers have these booklets? Why were railway parcel post stamps used instead or regular postage stamps or were these once part of some parcel?

If anyone wants to see the railway way bills with stamps I can post those too.

A representative article would be most appreciative, Battlestamps.
We can have one for the records.
I don't think we currently have a Belgium specialist as a member.

the three dockets posted by Battlestamps appear to be standard forms recording the sending of goods. The first seems to be for a parcel of Kepis (the sender is a manufacturer of uniform hats). The second is for machine made lace. I never knew "dentelle" was lace I was thinking something tooth related. The third is for medicine in glass bottles

Somewhere in my stash of railway stamps on dockets I have quite a few I acquired a few years ago that appear to be for registering with a doctors or as part of the health system. They were the later stamps, I seem to remember. We have moved since then and I'm not sure where they are, but if I can track them down I'll try and post some images

Maybe these stamps could be used as general official stamps as well as for payment for sending parcels?

Nice work Crispin..Thank you.

You are not far off actually, diminutive suffix of dent (fr) Tooth
Dentelle
ornamental tooling used in bookbinding, resembling lace edging.
"dentelle borders"

Must be similar to "Deckled Edge"

Let's hope you find your "Stash"

I would suggest, "sending official parcels" eg from some Government establishment.
I have never seen a Belgian (Official) Rail stamp on general postal matter.
