By the way, you might want to break that C15 France out into a separate message in the classic forum and see if anyone else thinks you might have C15a, reversed burelage. In Scott speak, "red network inverted."

Great eye! The burelage leans right, so it has to be C15a (red network inverted).

As opposed to left leaning, which is C15.

Scott Classic has the issue date for your stamp as July 10, 1936. Is that not in the basic Scott?

Hi Cjd - No, I was referring to the first 50 franc airmail, C14, but I was wrong. That one, as part of a set, does have the date listed.

Regardless, per GeoffHa's suggestion I ordered the Yvert 2023 France catalog. I got the print version as the digital is a subscription, and do not like those. Got a good price of $39, that includes shipping, through Nordfrim. Looking forward to getting it, and sweating through the French text....

Wow! That is interesting! I read a little on it on some other sites, and seems the two versions get confused. Check HipStamp listing and sure enough - a few not identified correctly. Also, evidently missed in my APS cert as well.

I will take your advice and post in the classic forum for feedback.

Hi Johnsim03 - Thanks for all the additional information. Very helpful.

I received this copy of the one shilling green embossed stamp of 1847 (SG 55)
with four margins, including one (the left side) huge one. I already had two copies of this stamp, one cut to shape, rendering it virtually worthless, and another with all four sides, although cut square, cutting into the design. As soon as I got it out of the envelope it came in I got out my magnifying glass to make sure it had the two silk threads 5 mm apart, showing that it's a genuine stamp and not a cut out from postal stationery You can see them in the picture, one of them running through the "N" in "One", and the other just to the left of the "S" in "Shilling".

See how the embossing always ruins the Postmark on these.

Yes, I was thinking that it's probably a numeral cancel but impossible to tell what the number is.

Nice. The number appears to be an English or Welsh 34?. It might be 84?, but the lower part of the first numeral does not appear to close.

Yes, I can see it now, 34 seems the best guess.

With 34?, I mean 340-349. The positioning suggest this was a three-digit number.

Made a small step back in time with my side collection of Spanish definitive blocks. - Somehow my Spanish collection I do not have keeps growing. - Unfortunately, the "lujo" quality of the 75 cts 'Franco y Castillo de La Mota' has a hole in the southeast stamp.

The seller, however, already, posted a replacement. So, I have to wait a few more days.

I am discovering there is a correlation between not buying stamps and not receiving any.

Sorry for the poor image. This is a dealer I often buy from at eBay. All his packages look the same, with different stamps every time. He's very cooperative: At my request he added a note not to fold, in English and Hebrew, though he doesn't know Hebrew. Recently I asked him to add a remark for the marker monkeys, and so far it works.
The stamps in the package are seen here:

When complaining about eBay traders, it's nice to know that there are such traders too.
