This 1994, 150 franc stamp of Ivory Coast commemorates French poet, journalist and philanthropist Raoul Follereau's 50 year fight (1942-1992) against leprosy.

From aifoeng.it website, "In 1936 during those travels (to West Africa) that Follereau first met the leprosy-affected persons. In the following ten years, he travelled the world many times, holding conferences to collect funds, which allowed him to support the building of a center for the leprosy-affected persons in Adzope in Ivory Coast."
