The Nobel Prize in Literature 1946 - Hermann Hesse (1877-1962)
 
Hermann Hesse was a German-born Swiss poet and novelist.
His best-known works include Steppenwolf, Siddhartha, and The Glass Bead Game.
He won Nobel prize "for his inspired writings which, while growing in boldness and penetration,
exemplify the classical humanitarian ideals and high qualities of style". |

Gustav Ludwig Hertz was a German experimental physicist.
He and James Franck received Nobel price:
"for their discovery of the laws governing the impact of an electron upon an atom". |

Mohamed Mustafa ElBaradei is an Egyptian law scholar and diplomat.
He was the General Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
He and the IAEA were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005.

In 1968, Sweden`s central bank established the Prize in Economic Sciences in memory of Alfred Nobel,
The first laureat was Dutch economist Jan Tinbergen. He shared the price with Ragnar Frisch
"for having developed and applied dynamic models for the analysis of economic processes". |
