Thanks,
fascinating stuff, but perhaps expensive to
form a collection.

Hey Desertfox, get out of the way, we can't see the books!

(Kidding of course. Impressive collection, and nice biceps. )

Finally a decent bookcase with strong shelves
that don't bend under the weight of books.

Envious of the Billigs.

Rod,

Now I have my complete set, I'm on the lookout for you.

Leonard Hartman has Vol 44 for $US125, it is the most difficult to find.

What are "the Billigs?"

At first I thought you were referring to Desertfox's biseps, but then thought maybe it was a set of books?

Fabulous collection you have there Desertfox!

The biceps didn't do much for me
but the slim waist did.

I cycle 150Km a week and still have a bit of a pot,
As of yesterday, I have banned all sugar
and a lot of processed food, to see how that goes.

Rolled oats with no sugar, now there's a man-test!

Thanks for clearing things up, guys.

It's always nice to learn something new!

Good luck with your new regimen, Rod.

Dont have much of a library, just a few "essentials"

1) Stanley Gibbons Part 1

2) Singapore Postage Stamps Catalogue

3) Phillipps' Field Guide to the Birds of Borneo
need it to identify birds on stamps

I depend a lot on online catalogues & listings such as
Theme Birds on Stamps http://www.birdtheme.org/index.html

& a subscription to Gibbons Stamp Monthly Online.

I need to add another to my list, 1974 - George T. Turner's "Essays And Proofs Of United States Internal Revenue Stamps". The only negative about the book is that its completely in black and white.

I find that the most difficult part of building a collection is getting the time to study what you collect. You don't actually need a stamp, though it would be nice, to study but you do need the books.

I'm needing more space, between my books and albums I'm spilling over into my wife's bookcase. Luckily, she hasn't noticed it.

My reference material:

I also have the Scott's specialized catalog on PDF file on my laptop/desktop

I have this one for an "album" I guess you'd call it but this is just a small graphic just to represent the one I can't locate at the moment. I don't use it anyhow because it sucks completely.:

I love this one even if it is outdated:

This one just gets in the way mostly but it does go a little deeper in depth on the secret marks and the Washington/Franklins than the larger one suprisingly:

The one I travel with usually:
