Re: Double Print

I had some input from Geoff Kellow at Brusden White on this example. His response was,

"I have looked at the scans, and as you say, the 2d stamp has a partial kiss print on the left-hand side. At least as good as many others on other Kangaroo values. On that basis it should be listed. That said, I do think that these kiss prints are more common than we thought, and perhaps they are not as deserving of listing as everyone thought. But it is much harder to take something out of the catalogue than to get it in!"

So, he didn't jump to the conclusion that it was a double print ... more of a kiss print. Can someone email me a way to get hold of Chris? Also, how would I view a copy of the one that is available in the Royal Collection? It would be nice to see a side-by-side comparison.

I just heard back from Chris, and he has confirmed that it is an ACSC 8c, or double-print. It is damaged, and repaired, but still becomes the third known copy, and the only non-OS punctured version. I'm awaiting for its arrival, and will post a copy of the cert at that time.

Value in ACSC 2017 catalog for the two known copies with OS puncture is AUS $7500.
