Belgium From Mundaneum to Internet January 18, 2010 Paul Marie Ghislain Otlet (1868 – 1944) was a Belgian author, lawyer, and entrepreneur. He has been considered the father of information science. He created the Universal Decimal Classification, he also created Mundaneum to collect and catalog information from the world. The background of the souvenir sheet features drawers of the Universal Bibliographical System bibliographic index cards and a large globe.  |

Vatican The 400th Anniversary of the Gregorian Calendar November 23, 1982 The Gregorian calendar is the most widely used civil calendar in the world. It has 97 leap years in a 400 year period. The set of three stamps feature a detail of the Pope Gregory XIII's tomb, carved by Camillo Rusconi, which shows the Pope being presented with a plan for what would become the Gregorian Calendar.
