Ok, and one more, the 1957 UPU Congress issue

...though admittedly, this one is more a map of Canada masquerading as a globe.

in December of 2000, Spain issued a computer-vended "globe" stamp honoring the 50th anniversary of the European Human Rights Convention. These labels were available/sold through December 2001, but were valid until February 28, 2002. It is Michel #49.

In December of the following year, the vending machines were updated and the stamp showed postage paid in euros and euro cents (Michel #49 F).

In some countries, computer-vended labels serve not only as postage, but also as registration labels.

This February 1996 Spanish computer-vended stamp features a round, three-dimensional image of the Spanish Postal Service logo (crown over posthorn) projected from planet Earth. 50 million of the unvalued labels were printed.

Michel lists two printing types for this stamp. Type I has a solid cyan blue background with a magenta halftone screen, while type II has a background of two halftone screens, cyan blue and magenta. Type I stamp is pictured above type II below.

Two globes for the price of one!

- that globe-of-stamps cachet, and

- that Peace In The World stamp, issued 19790119, CDS'd 19790924.

Michel NT-NY 330
Stamp Number NT-NY 306
Yvert et Tellier NT-NY 298
Stanley Gibbons NT-NY 315
Unificato NT-NY 298

And, for extra credit, that slogan cancel: A SALUTE TO UNITED NATIONS STAMP COLLECTORS.

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey

Today is World Environment Day. The stamp for that day last year issued by Bosnia Herzegovina - it's 5 of noon and the globe needs more help than just a soft nest.

New Zealand

1997

Discoveries

6v.

The stamp depicts the discovery of New Zealand in 1642 by Abel Tasman and is rich in symbolism telling its message of the time. Tasman's likeness and the globe are a fragment of a portrait of Abel Tasman attributed to Jacob Cuyp. A telescope is shown as is part of a drawing "Murderers' Bay", by Isaack Gilsemans, that illustrates when Tasman tried to land at a M#257;ori agricultural settlement and encountering resistance (Flude, 2001).
