Let's begin with a GPU (Genuinely Postally Used) "linen" postcard of Galapagos Tortoises at a zoo in Miami, Florida, USA, postmarked 30.Nov.19()6.

It is easier to find this postcard's image than it is to find hard information about these tortoises!

https://www.digitalcommonwealth.org...th:6108vp04x ... here is the same image in the Tichnor Brothers Postcard Collection of the Boston Public Library

https://www.floridamemory.com/items/show/157712 ... and here you can buy a photo of a(nother) CT-published postcard with this image

http://www.zoomiami.org/Galapagos-Tortoise ... looks like the tortoises are still there at the Miami Zoo

http://funzoomiami.org/Animals/Sout...gos-Tortoise ... another version of the same web page

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/loc...5238857.html ... "Admission fee was $1.50 ... (t)hose wanting to ride a Galapagos tortoise had to pay extra." (20151117)

Q/ Nobody told PETA about the rides?

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey
