Unidentified Stamps Of Unknown Origin

Opava lies at the confluence of the Opava and Moravice rivers.

Looking again at the map, I can see a shaded yellow outline
which I am hoping, is the Duchy of TROPPAU.

I have Postcard 29th May 1879 cancelled by a TROPPAU hammer (Unboxed text)
backstamped WINDISCHGARSTEN (Garsten)

Being modern day Czech Republic, I never know where these odd
items belong. Austria or Czechoslovakia, albeit I would like to keep in my Czech album.

I agree with vayolene. It used to be Troppau on the Troppau River. That is the small castle in the centre of your map that says Troppa.

If you follow that river leftward (upriver), the next castle is Jegersdorf. That looks like your Krnov. The German name for Krnov is Jaegerndorf.

The Coat of Arms of KRNOV
The three hunting horns are a canting (Pious) element and have been used since the 16th century. The German name was Jagerndorf (Hunters-village).

The Horn was used to communicate during the hunt.

Nice! I've not seen that one before. :D I believe the letters in the top corners are the initials of the founder of the post, Isaac Brudo.

This item is also listed in Billig's Specialized Catalogue Volume 6 Handbook of Private Local Posts, 1950.

It was produced by the "Isaac Brudo Post" local post and was issued in January 1893. The "Isaac Brudo Post" started in January 1891. On 16 July 1900 Brudo sold his post to the French postal authorities in Morocco. The French postal authorities continued to use the Isaac Brudo stamps till 15 July 1902.

Mine has the background lines (Horizontal) but is Perf 11
Billigs has no listing for that (although the forgery (Perf 11) has NO background lines)
Reprints have no background lines.
A conundrum.
