I have been searching for information about these seals for over 25 years.

I tried using the internet to translate the envelop to English.
Translations:

#1 (google) Seal stamps for the Stedelijk Nederland for the benefit of v.a.n. Crisis Committee

#2 (Babylon) Seals Urban Clean Netherlands benefit v.h. Crisis Committee

What are the v.a.n. Crisis Committee and v.h. Crisis Committee?

It can best be read as 2 short sentences.

1: Sluitzegels Stedeschoon Nederland.

Which means: Sealing stamps of beautiful towns in the Netherlands.

Stedeschoon is old Dutch language and no longer used, which explains the problem of translating it.

2: ten bate van het Crisis Comite.

v.h. is an abbreviation of van het.

translation: to the benifit of the Crisis Comittee.

November 23, 1931.--Princess Juliana opened the convention of the National Crisis Committee today with a radio speech, declaring that great distress necessitated great measures. The committee, she said, desired to help the unemployed materially and morally.

I have been collecting these for many years. This is what I have found so far.

By the way, "stedeschoon" would be a more modern way of writing "steedeschoon", can be translated as "Clean City", not just part of a city.

The Nationaal Crisis-Comité was founded in November 1931 to support the self-employed and unemployed and those put to work who did not earn a sufficient living. Funds were attracted through fund-raising activities. (The sale of these seals may have been one such fund-raising activity). The committee was dissolved on 2 May 1936 because insufficient funds could be raised.
Local committees were established from 9 December 1931.

We may never know how many varieties are out there. So far I've found 88 of them. They probably date some where between 1932 and 1935. And the printer or printers are still unknown as well..
