This small definitive stamp of Finland depicts Tavastia Castle in Hameenlinna, Finland. The sheet stamp (Facit #893C) was issued on January 15, 1982. The sheet of the particular stamp shown was printed on December 22, 1981 as can be seen on the selvedge.

The coil version of this stamp (Facit #893A) was issued on January 9, 1982. Counting numbers appear on the backs of every fifth stamp from the coil roll of 500.

Tavastia Castle dates from the 13th century, and its original use was as a fortress. From Wikipedia, " (when) Finland became the Grand Duchy of Finland under Russian rule, the castle turned into a prison. It served as such until 1953, when massive restoration work started." Now it is a museum.

This Swiss "Web Stamp" (personalized postage) depicts Schloss Schwarzenburg, or Schwarzenburg Castle.

From Wikipedia, "Schloss Schwarzenburg is a castle in the municipality of Schwarzenburg of the Canton of Bern in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance...The castle was built as an administrative center...rather than as a purely defensive structure. Many of the rooms still feature the original coffered ceilings from 1575."
