Thank you Rod. I have to agree on the postmarks - they are really interesting. For example this one on one of my duplicates. Any thoughts on it by the way?


In terms of the Sowers - yes I agree those are going to be tough - I only have a few of those so far :)

I have D'ZAOUDZI (Mayotte) but cannot find "Petite terre" (Pamanzi?)
Mayotte is off Madagascar, yet petite terre takes me to Guadaloupe

?ALEDONIE = assume New Caledonia

? NOVO

Been playing around with my copies of French essays after adding a few via a mixed lot (the Algerian cover I posted on "The Stamps of Algeria" thread came from the same group). I've seen the Bonaparte group (bottom of third scan) on Delcampe etc as "essays for Cinderellas". Anyone know dates etc?
