Rod,

I don't have a current Scott, but I can offer this.

Tulip is from a sheet that is Scott 2779a, so probably in that vicinity. Possibly Scott 2779.

No idea on the Eiffel Tower label.

There were quite a few Marianne designs. I think these are from 1 Jan 19. Possibly Scott 5572.

If only I had known!

Last weekend, I was in Foix. I needed 11 international stamps and was sold two of the 'Marianne d'Yseult' booklet. Although the back states it is a 'carnet,' these are not folded. The brother-in-law of my colleague collects stamps. I kept the one that was left. Sadly, I tore the booklet 'to size.'

It had a white reverse (the grey is the black background visible where stamps once were) and the 'NOUVEAU' over the map and inscription at the bottom below the map have disappeared. The text to the right changed. The front remains the same.

They, also, had this one at the Foix post office. It came in the sealed pocket.

Wow!
Thank you so much PostmasterGS and Vayolene and Geoff
That knocked me over,
What a fabulous response.

Steiner will not accommodate, so I'll print Black and White

For you experts out there (and I am anything but):

In the 1932 Peace issue, is Lady Peace wearing the Phrgyian hat?

Having trouble locating "Free French Forces in the Levant"
I have 2021 Spink / Maury
Do they exist in this catalogue ? if not any online reference?
my cursory searchings failed , I found the LVF etc.
Not mine.

Also borrowed PostmasterGS post, which I post here (useful)

French Colonies is a very broad collecting area. To attempt to answer your original question, SueStamps, there are many different political entities that are categorized as French Colonies for stamp collecting purposes.

Some are former French colonies that are now independent countries. Some are now parts of other pre-existing states. Some were French-occupied territories that eventually returned to non-occupied status. Some are still French overseas departments, territories, region, or collectives!

It's not my collecting area, so I can't speak for the accuracy of this list, but I found this somewhere on the Internet.

French Africa
Afars and Issas
Alexandria
Algeria
