The 50 paras stamp is a forgery. I have one of these too!

As you say the fonts are different.

A specific test is that the topmost circle/dot in the righthand group of four in the crescent is touching the line to its left while it doesn't in the genuine stamps.

The basic 20 piastres scarlet consulate stamp of 1907 was produced in three types of paper: pelure, medium and thick.

I think this one has the "FRCS. 5" surcharge for the consulate(s) in France although it's not clear.

Fabulous. Thanks Nigel.

Sc#55 Forgery ID. (Note top dot in right hand wing of the Crescent, genuine does not touch) (Plus the "5" leans to the right in the forgery)

Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
Swirling clouds in violet haze
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue
Colors changing hue
Morning fields of amber grain
Weathered faces lined in pain
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand

Nice item! Looks like a poster stamp advertising the firm.

This was formed in 1893 and its business and assets were acquired around 1903 by "La société de la régie co-intéressée des tabacs de l'empire Ottoman" known as "Régie".
