A child's drawing is a cry of despair. The situation for children in Yemen is beyond description and has been for years.

Idebee, the stamp for the Pact Members 1980 does not appear on my screen - does it have a special format? My computer is very old. K)

It's interesting that this FDC has both cancels from China & Japan. The right one with dove is China's, but I am not sure the bird in the left Japan's cancel is a dove or not?

The "Song of Peace", a colorful painting by the artist Alejandro Canales (1945-1990) of Nicaragua. The artist fought for democracy and justice and his huge murals are well known. 1994

(Idebee, nice cancels, the doves are a bit stylized, but not much because there are so many breeds. K.)

A huge mural done by the artist Walter Womacka (1925-2010) in Eisenhüttenstadt is titled "Work in Peace". Note the huge crucible behind the hand - it contains the molten iron "Eisen". There are several murals in Eisenhüttenstadt and they take away the dullness of the flat facades.

The UN frequently calls upon youngsters to design a stamp for a particular topic. For "My Vision of Peace" Amanda Nunez of Belice drew a beautiful portrait of a woman wearing colorful Peace Doves. Geneva, 2004
