This year I finally started a new country collection which I'd been contemplating for sometime - Germany. Up to this year I only collected US, UK and Canada. I'd had a pile of the different Germania stamps and so today I finally dug in to sorting them out and placing them in the different issues. I bought a Michel catalog this summer and that plus a couple of online resources have been the most help. |

I got 3 new stock books and have started to rearrange my mess of stamps. I have an entire 64-page one dedicated to TV and Children's stamps: Tintin, Asterix, Starwars, Startrek... etc. |

Quote: Have you been to the Bande Dessineée museum in Brussels? My sister went there 5 years ago and she loved it. It's on my bucket list and hope to go there someday. |

It's fun, as are many museums in Brussels - particularly the musical instrument museum. I'm always astonished by how expensive Tintin etc artefacts are, though. |

Today I went to the Vintage Paper Fair in San Francisco and bought 60 postcards (some used, most unused) for a total of only $22. I obviously didn't buy any big-ticket items; the most expensive cards I got were only $2 each. My haul included two early U.S. postal cards (Scott #UX3, used in 1873 and 1874) and this picture postcard, featuring the longest place name in the United States: Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg. |

I received in the mail a very nice (never used) Stender Denmark and Area Album to 1981 from an eBay seller. I have been looking for a nice used one for a long time at my price point ($75 USD or less) and my patience was rewarded with this never used one. Am busy mounting my Denmark and Area collection and converting it to hingeless with clear mounts. This Dane is happy. John |

I mounted my first Postmaster Provisional stamps. I got the Bogert & Durbin reprint 10X1R and 10X2R issues; not the originals but they look great. |

Today I'm sorting through GB GVI to start a specialised collection. Some off paper, some on. Some with interesting UK cancellations that I'm thinking of trimming nicely and keeping! Nearest to me so far has been Dundee I think. One says 'Field Post office' but sadly no location. Onward and upward! :) |
