just throw them away since they have zero value.

I saw offers on eBay that were clearly declared as "fillers", so everything can be sold.

...Hmm my philatelic "doings" for today- moved some "Clipper" covers and related info to another album......sent email to local stamp club members.....sorted some postcards.....gathered some philatelic gifts for our newest "potential club member"......tried to find 13 hole blank album pages on internet......checked out some info and threads from APS, Stamp Smarter, and StampCommunity.org websites....

I advertise for the "ripped and torn", you may be surprised with what I get sometimes.
I try not to get seduced into "mint" perfect gum, gradings and all that stuff.
Life was meant to be fun.
"Lick 'em and stick 'em" will do me, bring on the wallpaper.

To paraphrase a line in the Monty Python's "Meaning of Life", all stamps are precious.

In that case, would a cancelled stamp be a 'stamp-no-more'?

Wow, I didn't expect so much love out there for damaged common stamps. Outside of stamps on regular mail, I have probably only purposely thrown away a handful in my entire life.

I am likewise surprised by the affection shown here for damaged common stamps.

Going forward, I'll be stashing mine in old glassines instead of tossing them. When I'm done with my current album transfer project, I'll give them away here.

There are a significant number of numismatists who collect "cull" coins and build very interesting collections. You have my full and enthusiastic support in applying the same concept to stamps.

My Dad's collection has quite a few damaged stamps. When I someday inherit it, those stamps are all keepers.

I'm still working through the very long process of going through each country from that massive giveaway. I have been identifying each stamp, most of them simply to the Scott catalog page number where it is found, especially for countries where I have several hundreds to go through. I've only come across a large handful of stamps I didn't have based on the years I have already mounted, but I now have many thousands of stamps I didn't have before (from 1974 onward). I'm also still waiting on my mount order. It's been almost 2 months and I'm getting tired of waiting.

I bought a cover for 490$ in an auction, it is the highest price that I ever paid for a cover.

I attended a webinar hosted by the British Empire Study Group with Hugh Jefferies of Stanley Gibbons. He came across a real nice guy - not the ivory tower type. He noted delays in SG editorial work due to COVID. Most of the Q&A was about color. Shades is something I generally avoid for many of the issues discussed during the seminar. These are free and a virtual membership in the BESG is free.

I do wish they would be better at communicating about these delays. I am awaiting their Volume 1, Part 2. The website shows only Part 1 and the description mentions Part 2 is scheduled for publication in 2022. Last time I checked, it was 2023. We even changed to summertime.
