The current Volume 4, already, is between 12 and 15 years old. They published a new Volume 3 only four years ago. So, most or none of the self-adhesive Machins have not appeared in their specialised catalogue. |

Spent several hours fully identifying my loose Machins, almost all of them used. This is really the first time I have done this. A few are difficult to identify, i.e. the thick and thin and thinner numerals. I have a decent percentage of them so they will look nice on the Steiner pages. |

I caught up on some reading of Linn's. Scott Stamp Monthly, and some society journals including some social media sites.

Spent a good deal of Sunday picking through a collection of Polish stamps recently acquired, nothing major but filled in quite a few gaps and found loads of varieties which I keep separate. That being said, I also decided to bring the old 'want list' up to date only to find that the actual collection did not tally with the want list. Which has left me wondering whether I have a packet of stamps buried somewhere which need mounting or I took stamps off the want list during a 'nightcap- induced' moment of madness. |

Well today I went to the post office to buy the five new King Charles III British definitives, they consisted of the 1st class, 1st class large, 2nd class, 2nd class large and a £2.20 value, these are the new style bar-coded matrix stamps. I've also been sorting some NVI's for date code etc.

Spent this morning checking Australian Kangaroo watermarks. I think I'm getting it. |

I've been setting up my recent fulfillment purchase for cataloging & placement into my 2023 album. This includes the appropriate FDC & DPC. I have also been going through the several on-line shops for missing FDCs & coil issues (not available in 100 coils or 25 strips for an album strip.). Also been going over my inventory to list 'wants' for the upcoming Boxborough MA Show in April/May. |

A French sales house has halved the price of the hinges and I wanted to place an order for 90.-€. If the order exceeds €120.-, they do not charge shipping costs., I have notified a couple of friends from my town and I have already placed the order for €197.-for the three of us. |

I've started tackling the huge task of organizing my vast amount of U.S. stamps. From unused and used singles to pairs to blocks of 4 or more to the thousands of plate blocks, this is going to take some time. And I'm not even going to look at what I have on paper. I really have no idea what I'm going to do with all of what I have. I could start 100 kids with collections, but where do I find them? |

Quote: I could start 100 kids with collections, but where do I find them? You have reached a stage where "how many" stamps you have is meaningless All is left is anxiety. No more fun. There are hundreds of avenues to pass them on, bring on the imagination. Leave a box of duplicates on the counter at your library "Free stamps" Donate to red Cross Join swap clubs If in rural area, organise boxes of free stamps Schools etc & etc |

In 2009 I exhibited in the cultural center of my neighborhood after they insisted a lot. Schedules were agreed with a school and two institutes so that the students could visit it during school hours and I trained two members of the Cultural Circle to explain the matter in detail and I left bibliography, assembly tools, UV light, etc. and an envelope with 100 different stamps for each student 440 students came (44,000 stamps) If only one of them had decided to collect stamps, it would have been worth it, but it wasn't.

Boy! that is one sad story.
Life sometimes surprises though, one or two kids, later on, may just revisit in their memory, and begin the enjoyable journey.
Pat on the back for trying!
At my Country Field day, a few years back, I just dumped 1000's of world wide in a cardboard box, with FREE STAMPS adjacent to the Lego displays, and they all disappeared. (the stamps)

Quote: I could start 100 kids with collections, but where do I find them? Given the surplus of common stamps, I would think a society like APS could give away many 1000+c mixtures to new members, kids attending shows, or through regular giveaways. It would not have to be just for kids. |

Geez, what is up with stamp mounts? They've been out of stock for WEEKS now. I tried to order the mounts I need for a show this weekend and of the 8 sizes, only one was available. What gives? |
