I may or may not have purchased this package of crouton toasts for the packaging. Not that I won't eat the toasts.

The "postmark" has two year dates - 1914 and 1936.

Looks like the crouton toasts have held up pretty well

I am not so sure, but neither of the dates on the postmark are of any consequence. The package is not nearly as old as the cancel might indicate - the ZIP code on the package should tell us that it was dated from after the sixties!

1914 and 1936 postmark
ZIP Code = after 1963
The expiration date on the back of the package says JUN-07-17.

What a conundrum!

Also, I think the bar codes are relatively new! Swiss-American is a company that is alive and well, and this type of advertising is one of their specialties.

Now if they were printing the expiration date as the cancel... that would be slick.

If I saw the box, I'd have to buy the croutons. I'd make the box into a sturdy box, and probably ditch the croutons.
