Thanks NSK, and Geoff (what an astounding flight, enjoyed that read)
Before collecting stamps, I collected bird's eggs (horrible I know) as a five-six year old I did not know the difference my Curlew's egg was my favourite (a cousin of the Godwit)
Godwit named after its whistling call. Godwits were once a popular British dish. Sir Thomas Browne writing in about 1682 noted that godwits "were accounted the daintiest dish in England".
Home of the Melbourne Demons Women's AFL Tipping to win this years Premiership. Watching Alyssa Bannan in full flight, is a sight to behold. ------------- Bib : Australian Stamp News 1984
Sc# 2284 2004 A664 $5 Block of £2 Kangaroo's from Australia Post Archives.
Took a punt with this on eBay Paid $1 Scott # 231 November 1952 Elizabeth Coil pair, I think I hooked it. From : Coil Perf sheets of 160, 10 Joins ACSC # O40 Page 108, (1980 edition)
Note : Diminishing Perforation pin diameters, to access easy separation.
I would say very definitely a join pair. I can't see anyone casually sticking two individual stamps on an envelope and matching the horizontal perfs, let some the vertical perf along the selvage.
Re the horizontal coil perf, one could say that the intent was to prevent unwanted separation on stamps, given that there is more paper between the holes. My experience is that these stamps can easily separate particularly if they been folded.
