Henry Elling Was Penniless When He Located in Montana.
HELENA, Mon., Nov. 16. - Henry Elling, a pioneer of Montana and president of six banks in this state, is dead after a brief illness at his home in Virginia City. Mr. Elling came to Montana from Denver in 1864. He engaged in many enterprises, in all of which he was very successful. Mr. Elling was born in Prussia in 1843 and came to the United States in 1857. When he came to Montana he did not have a dollar, and he died several times a millionaire."
