Looking at those 1962 Monaco birds posted by jjarmstrong47 on Page 213
of Collecting by Engravers thread http://goscf.com/t/9106&whichpage=213
I'm trying to figure out if they were all printed by the T.D.3 press (3 ink stations) or perhaps at least two by the new (in 1962) T.D.6 Chambon press ( 6 ink stations for 3 direct recess & 3 indirect recess colours)

Seven stamps appear to be in 3 colours, the 0,45 Barn Owls in 2 colours ,one in 4 colours and one in 5 colours.

The 0,05 Yellow Wagtails' colours are green, brown, dark purple
& golden yellow

Were they printed on a TD6 using 4 inks , Green, brown, purple via diect recess and golden yellow via indirect?

Or on a TD3 by way of combining 2 inks to create a fourth colour? The camaieu effect maybe?

0,15 Blackcaps

Blue, yellow, red, green & dark purple.

5 colours (ink stations) on a TD6 ?

Or on a TD3 press combining yellow, magenta & cyan inks to achieve red & blue = dark purple and blue & yellow = green?

See here for a previous discussion regarding multicolour French
recess engraving.

Hello,

These Monaco stamps were printed on TD3 Chambon by Imprimerie des Timbres-Poste Paris. They are very beautiful stamps. They were very difficult to print by the way of "cama´eu" with colors mixed. Very good job.
