Hi,

I have inherited a box of rare stamps from my relative who was a Vice Minister of postal-service after WWII. They are not in a great state of preservation but I see that his collection includes a series of rare stamps from 1912 through 1950. *** Edited by Staff - Please Review the rules that you agreed to when you registered. ***

I live in Tokyo, Japan but I often travel to the U.S. It would be great to know any Japanese stamp collectors in foreign countries.

Thank you,

Hi Chibi, and welcome to this forum. Just to let you know, unless you have 50 posts you can not do any messaging and/or trading. But you can post a scan of your stamps, and we'd love to see them.

Peter

Hi, Chibi:

I do not collect Japanese stamps -- at least not yet -- but I do get over to Tokyo from time to time. Are there any good stamp shops in Tokyo? If so, can you supply directions to the shop(s)? Finding things in Tokyo can be difficult.

Thank you.

Hi Petert4522,
Thank you for letting me know this rule. I should have been aware of it.
Yes, I'd love to share with you some pieces.

Hi paul78703,
Thank you for the question. I agree with you. Unless you have a local friend it may be difficult to find stamp shops in Japan.
Here is a list of stamp shops in Tokyo, published by the Japan Stamp Dealers Association.

I've actually started my journey to find good stamp shops today.
In the meantime it may be worth to visit the Philatelic Museum.

Hi Chibi. I believe your early Japanese FDCs may have some value. Hopefully someone will be able to give you more info about them.
