I did an online transaction with a dealer in France yesterday for around 260 Euros. The invoice is showing I was charged that, plus .40 in 'Eurocents'.

OK, what is a Eurocent? Is that the equivalent of a cent here? If so I wonder why I got charged this extra amount. It is negligible and not a financial issue but my curiosity is piqued.

Ideas?

I paid using a third party set up to process a credit card. I suspect this surcharge was a service fee for the processing. It did not specify what it was for. will just assume it, not worth any worry.

Any time you have a credit card transaction with a foreign country you generally pay a fee like that.
