There are two works on WWII Patriotics written by Dr. Lawrence Sherman. The first edition is available as a free digital download from the Chicago Collectors Club at this address: http://www.collectorsclubchicago.or...andbooks.php. Scroll down the list and you will find the book. The second later edition is available for purchase from the Publisher (James E. Lee). He is currently discounting copies and I believe selling them for $40.00. If you do not have either work start with the free one and see if you can find the information that you need.

https://www.collectorsclubchicago.o...an-m-d-1999/

is the new URL for Sherman's 1st edition, as of May 2022. It is listed on their:

CCC Publications / Handbooks Available For Download

section, for $9.95 ... no longer free. However, if you want to use Sherman's catalog numbers somewhere public, it is best to use the 2006 2nd edition's numbers because the 1st edition's numbers were made obsolete by the second book. Unless, you specify that the number you use is from the first edition. Personally, I use codes to specify each edition, e.g.
S1#1252
S2#1415
are the same cachet, Minkus #JM-2.1, "Clear / the / Tracks!"

It is difficult to search the paper editions for a specific Cachetmaker, so a few days ago I installed a new work-in-progress page that IS searchable, at least for those cachets listed so far. I will be adding many more cachets as I have time.
