Just received a "swap" package from Ireland. Do others worry about the information required on modern mail?
The Packet indicia shows full name and address of sender and the Customs declaration shows a full legible signature.
Has me wincing.
Declaration : 140 used stamps Value : 1 euro.
"Tough Bags" I use from Oz, has spaces for Phone numbers as well, of the sender and recipient.

Names, addresses and signatures on declarations have long been standard. It's the requirement for a declaration for any packet going abroad that's new. You don't need telephone numbers on declarations, but some couriers require it because they message/'phone the recipient when it's arrived at their office in the destination country. |

That looks like a full listing. The first is a postage due stamp dispensed by counter machines. It is a variable value stamp. The second, third, and fourth stamps (1990) are machine-vended variable value stamps. These were in use at different post offices as a test. The fifth stamp was the FRAMA label chosen. The machines were taken out of service. After a several-year gap, new variable value stamps were issued for the inland waterways stamps, this comes with two different phosphor taggings. The permanent 'A History of Ireland in 100 Objects' and 'Irish Life and Culture' set share a few designs. The common designs can be assigned to the individual sets.

These appear to be as challenging as Machins.
I just want to get date order of releases of each series I'll just pencil in notes under each for varieties. Missing images for issue 4, 6, 8 and onwards

Picture 6: 21 July 2008. I have to check the two phosphor taggings: either 3 phosphor bars or a complete phosphor frame. If I remember correctly the frame was the original and soon replaced with the bars. |
