No, Trump didn't call me. However today I got a very nice friendly phone call from Ken Nilsestuen, President of the France and Colonies Philatelic society. Their convention this year is being held at NAPEX and he wanted to know if I was planning to come. They need volunteers to man their table and want a good turnout for the meeting. We had a several minute discussion about the society, he shared some memories with me of the days when they were mostly a NYC group. I had to tell him I was still undecided about going, I'd love to but my wife seems to want to go West from where we live here in the Midwest and not sure if I can get away dragging her to another stamp show.

In over fifty years of collecting I have never had a society president call e to shoot the breeze like this. I am very impressed with Ken as a person and a philatelic official. He said he is calling many members this weekend. So if you are member you may be getting call from him.

Hope he runs for APS president again sometime.

The personal touch means so much to people. That is what makes a great president of and organization.

I've not heard of that either, altho I have occasional contact with the editor of one of my specialty society journals. Too bad for French stuff though, as I'm shipping off my French area collection this week to an auction house.
