A mystery surely to inspire the next installment of the National Treasure series. Well maybe its not on that scale, but I'm sure some additional intrigue and conspiracy can be invented.

Thanks for the interesting story. Items get pilfered/lost/traded from public or government collections. It is a little unusual when it is a large painting rather than artifacts, books, prints, stamps, or coins.
