I have a bunch of first day of Issue stamped envelopes I found in my attic that where my uncles. Here's a pic of one.

Hello. Unfortunately, most modern first day covers are worth a few pennies or cents, unless there is particular interest in the designer. One of the many ways that postal authorities found to made money out of the public. Conversely, as they're cheap, they can be an easy and attractive way of displaying modern stamps.
