I am relatively new to precancels (although do have a basic understanding) and can use some help with these. I am trying to determine if these are legitimate or not. I know that generally commemoratives are not precanceled, though there are exceptions which were done at the local post office.
These appear to be precanceled – they are MNH and full gum on the back so I am assuming not post-canceled. They also don't line up well so would assume some type of hand stamp?
However, I am having a tough time identifying the type:
Wausau: The precancel type doesn't match any type identified in the precancel society's town & type catalog. It somewhat resembles a 479 (haven't measured yet) and has a serif font, but the only types listed are sans-serif.
New Lisbon: When I measure this out, it appears to be type 471, however that is a very rare type so I am doubtful it is what I have. It doesn't match other types that I have for new lisbon.
Wisconsin Rapids: Again, doesn't seem to match with any types out of town and type catalog that are associated with Wisconsin Rapids.
Merrill: This is the one that may have a match. Looks like a type 548 from Merrill, but including a picture as reference anyway.
Any help, especially on the first three, are appreciated!
