Wow!
thanks for the nice words.
Great to see other fans of the "cut squares" they do gain affection when you begin to get a few. Grab them whilst they are still only pennies.

Sundry Revenues. Cape of Good Hope.

Lovely scan of the 1d
Internet auction 2014
Suggested as a De la Rue print.
Hope looks reflective, even forlorn?

Rod, it looks like a De La Rue print to me but I'm by no means an expert. Here are a couple of 4d triangles I recently won in an auction and have had one of the leading experts offer me his opinion.

De La Rue Die B. His description in part;

"A lovely De La Rue 4d blue showing the classic De La Rue woolly impression (patchiness in the background behind "Hope").

And the Perkins Bacon, also a Die B

Lovely scans Nigel, Thank you.
So hard to get good scans of the issues, for comparison.
I cannot afford these items, so I just collect the "leftovers"

De la Rue certainly had it over Perkins, no contest there.
(Nice triangular Barred CGH postmark you have as well)

These inspired me as a kid, when I read Stanley Gibbons story of the stamps he started with, from the sailors.

Concerned about this topic, I reviewed my Cape of Good Hope stamps. I do not collect it, but I always put away more interesting stamps for possible exchange.
First, some triangles. There are probably many fakes here but I'm not a specialist

Nice scans Sopot, I agree with Stallzer, but nice to have clear images of forgeries, very helpful.

You have a nice "Argus Wheel" Postmark, Type 1 I think.

I suspected most of the triangles were fake, but I hoped that maybe not all of them.

I have one more such cancel.
