What Is The Correct Way To List These For Sale

I have a total of 30 line pairs of 839-61 and 840-61. I would like to list them for sale and want to be accurate in my description. They have never been used or hinged. So the questions for the experienced sellers is - how should I correctly list them? Should they have any additional value because of they are line pairs?

I do not quite understand the reason for asking. Does not the catalog give a different value for line pairs?

I would assume wheelman means he has line pairs of Scott 839 to 851 as Scott 852 to 861 do not come as line pairs. The current Scott catalogue value for a set of Scott 839 to 851 in line pairs is $139.90. My question would be does he mean that he has 30 sets of Scott 839 to 851 in line pairs or does he mean that he has a total of 30 line pairs of Scott numbers between 839 and 851?

I am sorry - I wrote my answer a bit fast. But I meant that the question was not clear as to what exactly he has for sale.

Sorry for the confusion guys. The designations are for precancels on Scott number 839 and 840. The -61 is for the designated cancel type. I have 9 line pairs of #839 and 21 line pairs of 840. All are Pittsburgh precancels. They do have added value as Scott# line pairs but as they are precancels are they really Mint? There are a few different views on the SC site these since they are precancels. Should they just be listed as unused NH? Scott discounts these more than 50% for used and they have never been used and are NH. Not a lot of $$ here but just want to have an accurate listing. Thanks for your valued input!

You can check Ebay to see if any of them sell and what for.

Are you selling at net price, or auction? If auction, you can put them up for 1$ and see what happens, they will fetch what they are worth. Precancels are not worth anywhere near the mint/Scotts price, unless they are scarce varieties.

Thanks Peter / Chasa. I think my question is answered in chasa's response. Although these have never been used (mint) they should be listed as used since they are precanceled.

Wheelman, they are mint. Precancels that have not been on mail are mint, just like regular stamps.
