Hello...am new here. Ran across this stamp when I was putting stuff in the album. At first I thought it was just some a press run with the ink running out. Then I thought, hmm, it's not really the same color. I searched online for a "variation" or anything about this, and couldn't find anything. So I thought I could check in here and see what some of you think before going to Mystic and paying $3, etc.

The bottom one is the normal color. The top one is, well, I don't know.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

It's a color changeling, either due to exposure to light, or bleach, or something. You can see the cancel is even faded to near nothing. It's a damaged stamp.

Ah! Now that makes sense. So it's not another #85A? Darn the luck. Do appreciate your response, though. Saved me three dollars!
