These are the most recent German pet Cat stamps; issued in 2004 as semipostals in support of projects for young people such as special sporting events, etc. Design by Ehmke.

In celebration of World Pet Day, here is an image of a stamp reproducing "Kurufuneya," a painting depicting a seated young woman and her black cat, by Japanese poet and artist Yumeji Takehisa (1884-1934), printed by photogravure, and issued by Japan on October 27, 1980, Scott No. 1406.

Here are images of the three stamps in a set depicting domestic cats, designed by the Czech artists Libuše Knotková (1949- ) and Jaromír Knotek (1949- ), who sign their joint art works as "L. a J. Knotkovi," combined engraved by Martin Srb and photogravure, and issued by Czech Republic on February 17, 1999, Scott Nos. 3078-80.

Georges Perec (1936-1982) was a French novelist, filmmaker and essayist. Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of Perec, attended by his "familiar," designed by the late French graphic artist Marc Taraskoff (1955-2015) after a photo by Anne de Bruhnoff, engraved by Pierre Albuisson (1952- ), and issued by France on September 21, 2002, Scott No. 2914, Y&T No. 3518, plus an image of the original photograph; note the strategic realignment of the cat's tail in the stamp's design.

I found these cats and a few dogs in a box lot purchased recently.

NZ Mail #0032. 2005 Cats and Dogs by Judy Reisen
Sadly there are 3 stamps missing. Complete the booklet is not easy to find and sells around $20. However not a total loss as they can be used for NZ mailing (value $6.30)

Charo is a very playful Siamese breed, an ancient breed dating back to the Royal Palaces of Siam.
Bubu, also known as a moggie, is a domestic shorthair, which is by far the most common type of pet cat in Australia.
Sweetie is a tortoiseshell Maine Coon, which is the largest domesticated breed of cat in the world.
Cato is a Ragdoll, named because of their tendency to become limp and relaxed, like a ragdoll, when picked up.
Briony is an Australian Mist, the only current "true blue Aussie" breed.
