Dear Stamp Community Family Does anyone know this company logo "B B with a beehive"? I've been googling for a long time but I didn't find this logo. Maybe one of you guys will know more about it. Perhaps the company behind it and the timeframe in which this label was issued. Thanks for any hint. Best regards from Switzerland. André

Dear Jim
Absolutely great. But also a little bit strange. With the beehive I thought more of a honey producer, but not a yarn company. But other companies are strange as well in creating their logos (Apple for a computer makes also no sense...)
Thanks a lot to solve another mystery.
Best regards from Switzerland
André

Beehives can represent both common Industry, and frugality. I also have a Thai seal (For medicine) somewhere, with a beehive.Error, bad human memory chip, it is a De La Rue label,...no beehive. |

Hi Rod222! Reviving this thread because I was stunned to see the stamp that you posted. My girlfriend and I just discovered the same beehive stamp in an antique (1930s? maybe) liquor bar that I have owned for years. It is from England. The stamp was wedged in between a drawer. Do you have an insight as to what this stamp is? We are so curious! Do you know what it was used for or if it is collectible? Thanks in advance for help! My girlfriend and I will be thrilled to find any info on this. |

No Nothing as yet, smeadows, my guess it is a product quality seal, often seen on porcelain, medication packages etc. They are reasonably common, I have seen a few, Collectible sure, but value lies in the curiosity, no monetary value.

Thanks Rod222! Yeah, definitely curious about this. Learning about the stamp is one piece of the puzzle in learning about the history of the english liquor cabinet that my girlfriend and I have. |

The cabinet looks deco, so 1920s or 1930s. All-figure numbers in the UK date from the 1960s. In the 1980s, you could still see old shop signs with the letter type - eg MUSeum 3243) around. Like many English seaside resorts, Great Yarmouth has become more run down over the years.
Is there a maker or shop name on the cabinet? |
