I do not collect, but have many precancels, in an other posting for a plate variety on this stamp, someone posted that this precancel was more interesting. At the time I did not think about the precancel posting.

Now I wondering, is this of any interest?

I assumed the last letter "L" for some unknown reason was not fully transferred to the parent stamp.

I've added and arrow pointing out the Area of Interest (AI).

On precancels in general, is there any AI that a precancel always looks at? If so what are the AI?

It was most likely not totally transferred because part of the mat got damaged somehow. This is very common with precancels, especially at the ends and beginnings of the precancel mats.

Here's a link to a very odd precancel that I found awhile ago. The top of TORONTO was missing, creating a very odd version.

I'm not an expert on printing and precancels. It took me some time to go through all the ones that I have. I do have a fair amount that just look like for some reason the printing didn't fully take. Not sure if it is anything more than that. Hopefully someone that has more knowledge can confirm this is the case.
