Went to my local post office, and noticed that the new stamp appeared to be available and asked for a single. Postal clerk had the sheetlet and tried several times to ring it up using the bar code reader to no avail. She finally checked with her supervisor and was told that the stamp wasn't for sale yet. Next time I checked I was told that it wouldn't be for sale until December. Did something change with its release date that I missed?

Thanks for the note. Article indicated that it was originally to go on sale Sept 24th with no reason for the change in the release date. Guess that's what confused me.

I think there was a bit of the confusion due to a change in issue dates. When it was decided that Sep. 24 was NOT the date, they temporarily set the date as Dec. 30 ... this was basically a place-holder until an actual date was chosen. Which proved to be Oct. 13.
