This vignette essentially cost about $800 in 1982.
Can you identify the company that had this vignette in 1982?

There are many beautiful vignettes on stock certificates of all types --particularly railroad stock. In additional there are fantastic vignettes on confederate currency, American national currency of the educational series and US presidential appointment documents including Ships Paaes starting with George Washington and continuing through around Buchanan/ Lincoln and military and civil commissions (treasury and commerce) even up to the present time

I'm especially fond of American Bank Note vignettes like this one, and I have a number of vignette proofs in my collection. But $800 is an astronomical price for a modern vignette like this, when original proofs from pre-1900 generally top out at $100 for common designs. Assuming that's what you are referring to.
