Extraordinary that it's not illustrated in the book, given its rarity rating.
Off the top of my head, I'm not aware of any inverted numerals in any device.
FDS's advice on looking at sequences is very wise, but like almost everything else in this hobby, it's still not a 100% guarantee (yes 856, 1320 and 1409, I'm looking at you).

Indeed, but with respsect, yours as a duplex, is just the ants pants.
TENTERFIELD A song about Peter Allen's Grandfather
The late George Woolnough Worked on High Street and lived on Manners Fifty- two years he sat on his verandah And made his saddle And if you had questions about sheep or flowers or dogs You just asked the saddler He lived without sin They're building a library for him
Chorus Time is a traveler Tenterfield Saddler Turn your head Ride again jackaroo, think I see kangaroo up ahead
The trimmed (previously perforated) Five Pence diadem stamp has a couple of strikes of the Sydney 20 circular datestamp (i.e. not a 'numeral cancellation') and it appears someone may have tried to pass it off as the far more expensive imperforate 5d by trying to match it to a circle on the 'piece'.
If so, apart from the obviously non-contemporaneous postmark, they have neglected to continue any other parts of the postmarks onto the piece!
The '47' is just an illusion created by stray ink.
I haven't checked images but the laureate postmark is probably one of the 'dumb' cancellers.

Thankyou for the feedback The "47" is very defined - and stray ink doesn't make sense to me. I respect you advice and will continue to question my eyesight Which is failing daily Thankyou Much appreciated
