(Did not see in other scans) This one came to me in the bottom of a box lot of odds&ends I got at auction. Came with original envelope and paperwork. I like how on the order form, along with the other BEP offerings, you can get uncut sheets of banknotes. Thanks for the Ken Barr website. This one is listed as: B186 Centennial 1994,thirteen 1894 stamps (black) |

Patg23, you actually have B-197, the blue version of the Postage Stamp Centennial card. When the BEP first issued the card in 1994, it was very popular and quickly sold out. So they reprinted it the following year, doubling the print run, and it sold very well, too. There's a similar card, B-229, that showcases the entire Trans-Mississipi set, in green. |

Greg, Thank you for the clarification. On closer look, it does look more like a very light shade of blue.(My eyes aren't what they used to be.) pat |

I just thought everyone might like to see this year's annual card from the Souvenir Card Collectors Society, which was released earlier this month at the Chicago APS show. Every year the SCCS puts out an engraved souvenir card, which goes out to all our members. We wanted to do something special for the 40th anniversary of the Society this year, so we produced this five color card, which actually required seven passes on the press. If anyone wants to join the SCCS ($25 annual dues), you will receive a mint version of this card. You can learn more here: http://www.souvenircards.org/join.html |

What, no new posts since last year? Well, I'll add a couple cards I recently picked up. Both of these are considered semi-official (SO) cards. The first is from the CANADA 82 stamp show, printed by Ashton-Potter. It shows off the 10 progressive steps in the process used to print the 30¢ Terry Fox stamp. This is listed by the SCCS as SO-27. And another Ashton-Potter card, SO-162, from Capex 96 with six stamp reproductions. Despite the fact that these are not postally valid, someone "cancelled" them with a variety of different hand stamps from the show. Both of these cards are seldom seen in the collector's market, so apparently they were not well received. |

Here's another seldom seen Canadian card -- SO-168, issued for Royal '98 in Hamilton, Ontario. This is one I've known about for some time, but had never seen an actual card until last year. It's smaller than you'd think, only 5" x 7". |

Okay, I'm in need of a little assistance. Most U.S. collectors are probably familiar with Scott # 2875, the 1994 $2 Madison souvenir sheet honoring the centennial of the Bureau of Engraving & Printing. BUT ... did you know there was also a souvenir card with the same design? This card, printed on semi-glossy card stock shows the little sheet about 200% enlarged. The back has text relating to the centennial, using the same typestyle that the BEP used on a couple other cards right around the same time. We've determined that this is *not* a USPS card, but we can't pin down exactly who issued it or why. Does anyone have any info about this card? Was it a giveaway item? If you have a copy, do you recall where you got it? The SCCS has been trying to figure out how to catalog it, but still can't quite reach a conclusion. |

No input on the $2 Madison card? Maybe there are less out there than I had guessed. As an addendum, here is an info sheet that accompanied an unrelated card the BEP issued a few months later. You can see the font is very similar to the back of the one above. |
