Several of the values of Dominica's 1938-47 KGVI definitive series, including this one shilling stamp, depict Boiling Lake.

From wikipedia, "The Boiling Lake is a flooded fumarole located in Morne Trois Pitons National Park, a World Heritage site on the island of Dominica...The lake is filled with bubbling grayish-blue water that is usually enveloped in a cloud of vapor...The lake is approximately 200 to 250 feet across and is the second-largest hot lake in the world after Frying Pan Lake, located near Rotorua, New Zealand."

The 12c (shown here) and $1.20 values of Dominica's 1954-8 QEII definitive series depict Freshwater Lake, the island nation's largest lake. Oddly, the two stamps are inscribed "FRESH WATER LAKE", whereas the internet sources consistently use "Freshwater Lake".

From Viator.com website, "Among the myriad natural and geological wonders you'll find in Dominica's Morne Trois Pitons National Park is Freshwater Lake, also known as Warmae Letang. This water-filled volcanic crater sits at around 2500 feet above sea level, and it's surrounded by moss, ferns and lush vegetation of Dominica's interior rainforest."

Cancel is Roseau, the nation's capital.
