The crater at the summit of Kelimutu in central Flores island has three volcanic lakes that differ in color. The lake colors periodically change due to variation in the oxidation-reduction level of lake water which depends on the balance of volcanic fluid input and rainfall rate.

Abraham Lake is located in the front range of the Canadian Rockies in western Alberta, on the upper course of the North Saskatchewan River. Emission of methane bubbles to the lake surface creates columns of luminescent, milky orbs in winter.

Black Lake (elevation 1197 m) is located near the Osankarica Lodge, in the Pohorje Mountains in northeastern Slovenia. The lake was formed in ca. 6000 BC and is surrounded by high marshes, dwarf pine and spruce forests.

The stamp depicts Heidenreichsteiner Moor Nature Park, an area of open bog and bog forest overgrown with spruce, pine and birch. Bog formed in wet depressions since the end of the Ice Age. The nature reserve is home to hundreds of bird and plant species.

Everglades is a natural tropical wetland within a large drainage basin in southern Florida, It comprises a complex ecosystem of sawgrass marshes, sloughs, hardwood hammocks, pineland, cypress swamps, mangroves, and coastal prairies. The exceptional variety of its water habitats has made it a sanctuary for a large number of birds and reptiles, as well as for threatened species such as the manatee.
