The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) is a multilateral treaty to protect endangered plants and animals. Here is SS issued by Poland on July 10, 2001 publicizing the CITES:

The UN issued several sets, each consisted of four stamps, depicting endangered species protected by the CITES. Each set was issues in a sheet contains four sets. Here is how the complete sheet looks like:

As a monkey stamps collector, I keep those sets contain endangered monkeys (prefer the set with the monkey in margin). Fortunately, many of them contain also endangered birds. So, here is first group of them:

Blue Crane (Anthropoides paradiseus), 1997
Golden Parakeet or Golden Conure (Guaruba guarouba), 1995
Resplendent Quetzal (Pharomachrus mocinno), 2001
Laysan Duck (Anas laysanensis), 2001
American Flamingo (Phoenicopterus ruber), 1998
Green Peafowl (Pavo muticus), 2001
Painted Tiger Parrot (Psittacella picta), 2012
