Should there be separate threads for engravers such as
the French ones like Gandon, Piel etc who not only
worked on French stamps but also colonies plus Monaco, Andorra
etc.

Then what about the great Czeslaw Slania ?

He engraved over a thousand stamps for many different countries
should he have only one thread?

Wouldnt it be better to have a Czeslaw Slania Sweden thread
and a Czeslaw Slania Denmark thread etc etc ?

BTW the reason I added French Engraver and Austrian Engraver etc
was because Titles MUST be at least 20 characters.

How much would you consider a Czeslaw Slania autograph to be worth? I got one at the Ameripex 1986 show in Chicago. On one of his Sweden engravings. Just curious. Wolf-==-

In his lifetime Slania must have signed many thousands of stamps and covers, as signed items are common. The premium charged seems to be what the vendor thinks he can get away with. Sometimes hardly anything extra, while at other times it will be a stupidly high premium.

Currently on eBay signed Slania items vary from a low of $8 for an unused Swedish postcard to a high of $700 for a sunken die proof...and everything in-between. Of course, the item that has been signed will greatly influence the price as well. GLENN

Yep, Slania was there. I got him to sign it himself. Although I haven't seen the item in some time, now I'm going to have to find it for show and tell. Wolf-==-

I finally located my booklet. Signature is under the cancel on right top of bottom stamp. Kind of hard to see and his signature is a bit nondescript. The booklet has been cropped to fit the 200K limit. Wolf-==-
