Elie Timothée Loizeaux was born in Vinton, Iowa, on March 4, 1873.
In 1892 he started as an apprentice engraver in American Bank Note Co. and remained in this Company until his retirement in 1947.
Loizeaux was one of the last great master engravers of the golden age of steel engraving in ABNC. He worked side-by-side with legendary engravers as Charles Skinner, Robert Savage and Edwin Gunn.
Elie T. Loizeaux died on August 6, 1956.
